- February 8, 2024: The PARETO team visits Houston to attend the Produced Water Society’s Annual Conference and hold a stakeholder board meeting. The team gives a roundtable demonstration of the PARETO water sharing module, holds a PARETO training workshop, and delivers a presentation at the conference:

- December 13, 2023: Travis Arnold, Elmira Shamlou, and Melody Shellman visit Albuquerque to attend the New Mexico Produced Water Research Consortium’s Annual Meeting and deliver a PARETO training workshop.
- October 11, 2023: The PARETO team visits Tyson’s Corner, VA for the first Advanced PSE+ Stakeholder Summit. The team participates in several overviews, demonstrations, and poster sessions.
- September 13, 2023: Markus Drouven, Philip Tominac, and Miguel Zamarripa present PARETO at the Ground Water Protection Council Annual Meeting.
- August 29, 2023: The PARETO team visits Austin to attend Texas Produced Water Society’s Annual Conference. The team holds a 2-hour stakeholder meeting as part of the official conference agenda, offering updates from the project on beneficial reuse, hydraulics, water sharing, and desalination modeling.
- August 15, 2023: Markus Drouven, Naresh Susarla, and Sakshi Naik (from Carnegie Mellon University) attend the Produced Water Society’s Permian Basin Summit in Midland, Texas. The team gives PARETO demos during a round table session and delivers two presentations during the summit:
- “Updates to PARETO – DOE’s Free and Open-Source Produced Water Optimization Framework”
- “Optimal Desalination Technologies for Produced Water Networks”

June 15, 2023: The PARETO team takes a field trip with Equitrans in southwestern Pennsylvania to get a hands-on look at produced water infrastructure in the Appalachian Basin.
